Our inspectors are trained and certified through AHIT (American Home Inspectors Training and earn yearly CEUs through the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI). We’ve performed cumulatively over 3,500 inspections; and our inspectors have years of experience in building, in addition to having spent months training alongside Chuck and Chris, our lead inspectors. This means you, our home buyers, will know you are getting a top-notch home inspection.
Chuck Wiemann, Owner
“I graduated from high school knowing I wanted to pursue work in the building trades. I spent 20 years in new home building. Ongoing customer service and excellence remain the cornerstone of my business today. I was privileged to learn under a highly-regarded Des Moines-area home builder who taught me how to build quality homes and to treat customers right.
Previous to starting my home inspection company I ran Wiemann Remodeling with my son, Chris. Our Des Moines area home inspection company stemmed from numerous customers asking me to inspect their homes in preparation to sell. They also regularly consulted with me regarding problems encountered after moving into a home. As a result, I felt a strong desire to provide people with honest, skilled inspections and to make scheduling an inspection as simple as possible. For me, it’s all about treating people right.
My wife, Julie and I have two children who are married and three grandchildren! We worship at the Ridge in Ankeny where we are both involved in serving in a variety of ways. My hobbies include home projects and spending time with family and friends.
Chris Wiemann, Lead Inspector
“I’ve always loved building things and working on houses. At a young age I started helping my dad work and do projects around the house. When I was in high school I took a two year remodeling program at Central Campus and through our church participated in multiple working mission trips to help remodel and rebuild communities in several different states.
I had the opportunity to gain a lot of experience working with a new home builder in the area for a couple of years, and then helping run our family remodeling business for several years. My building experience comes from both residential and commercial. Like my dad, serving people and teaching them about homes is my passion.
My wife Amanda and I have three children. We live in Urbandale, worship and serve at Lutheran Church of Hope-Waukee, and I enjoy working on home projects, flipping some properties, golf and spending time with my family. I love to learn and am constantly looking at ways to improve our skills as home inspectors in Des Moines.”
Mark Collins, Inspector
I officially began my construction career in high school when at a young age. I enjoyed working with wood and creating a building from the ground up or making the old new again. I operated a new home and remodeling business for forty years. I’ve always loved taking an outdated kitchen or bath and changing it into a new useful area of a home. I enjoy teaching people the basics of home ownership and seeing them come to understand the different components of a home.
My wife, Julie, and I have been married over forty years, have three married children and six grandchildren. I enjoy some golf, relaxing at a good warm beach, follow the Green Bay Packers and love the joys of grandchildren. We attend, serve and worship at The Ridge in Ankeny.
Brad Koenigsberg, Inspector Northern Iowa
“From the time I was young, and because I started farming with my family immediately out of high school, I’ve always been handy and interested in learning. For many summers I assisted a local builder with a variety of projects to help supplement farming income. Additionally, remodeling our old farmhouse has been a constant “past-time” for my entire adult life. In many of my projects I gleaned valuable information from my brother-in-law Chuck and nephew Chris.
My wife Mary Jo and I have two married children, as well as three grandchildren. We live in Sheffield, Iowa; worship and serve in a variety of leadership roles at Rolling Acres Church in Mason City. I enjoy working on home projects, golf, and spending time with my wife and grandkids.”
Tim Sluiter, Inspector
Tim has always loved building and rebuilding things. He spent multiple years after college in the construction trades as a trim carpenter, window and door installer, remodeler, and handyman. He also enjoys the process of helping and teaching others. That, combined with a curiosity for how things work and and attention to detail, makes being a home inspector a natural fit.
After spending 13 years in ministry, Tim and his wife are excited to return to the Des Moines area and be a part of our inspection team. We quickly saw his eye to detail and we’re equally as excited for him to be on the team. Tim and his wife Amy have two teenagers at home and enjoy game night and movies together. He is also passionate about golf, the Iowa Hawkeyes and cheering on his kids in whatever activities they are involved in.
